Goodwill Foundation: Our Mission

The mission of Goodwill Foundation is to amass capital and other resources and leverage them with effective community organizations to develop holistic, innovative solutions to enable the disabled and disadvantaged to permanently and systemically overcome the barriers to self-sufficiency.

What does it mean to be "Self-Sufficient?"

The term self-sufficient means "needing no outside help in satisfying one's basic needs; emotionally and intellectually independent."

Self-sufficiency is a state of mind and is the desired state of being for all people. Individuals and society as a whole function best when its population is capable of being self-sufficient. The vision of Goodwill Foundation is to assist organizations in efforts to restore this ideal to the community and instill the sense of self-sufficiency.

Within 10 years, Goodwill Foundation's vision is to facilitate the development and employment of this innovative, systemic, holistic approach in which the disabled and disadvantaged can overcome the barriers to self-sufficiency. This approach is recognized as a national model and will be broadly emulated by other communities.
