Goodwill Foundation: Who We Are

Goodwill Foundation, an extension of Goodwil Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina, began out of a desire to address a growing concern of how to provide people with the tools to overcome their circumstance and to allow them the means to be completely self-sufficient.

Various agencies have addressed different barriers to self-sufficiency, but none have taken on the challenge of addressing all of these barriers in a more coordinated and holistic approach. This is the goal of the Goodwill Foundation.

In an effort to not duplicate initiatives or replicate programs already in use by multiple agencies, Goodwill Foundation was created to generate capital needed (financial, human, leadership, influence, innovation, etc.) and release those resources into targeted and purposed efforts that address multiple barriers to individuals becoming self-sufficient.

Whereas, agencies tend to work as exclusive organisms, Goodwill Foundation was established to provide resources across multiple agencies. In short, Goodwill Foundation is a leading source of capital, not an operating social entity competing for organizational effectiveness.
